This is what happens when a Doctor of Astrophysics takes on an English Literature undergrad at Scrabble.

Geniuses, we ain’t, but I think it’s telling that ‘Giros’ is the first word that popped into my head when perusing my tiles. I blame the cheap wine.

I have a confession to make. Scarf-induced boredom led me to an ebay binge. Now I have 10 balls of Cashmerino Aran on it’s way, along with an equal amount of Alpaca Silk and Wool/Cashmere yarn to follow. Darn, I never was one to stash, now I’ll have to misappropriate the big wooden Ikea box the boyfriend keeps all manner of nothing in. Shame.

I have however, accomplished two things this week, aside from a vast amount of ironing and Wordsworth reading. Oh yes, I decided to have a go at the felted join. Naturally, as I sat there with the wool in my mouth, the boyfriend walked in and thought my knitting fetish had gone a shade too far. Ha! Here it is, anyway, in all it’s accomplished (and awfully photographed) glory.

What’s that? You can’t see anything? Precisely . Note also, my new Options needles which are an absolute dream to knit with. Even boyfriend noticed “you’re knitting much faster, are they nice?” Oh yes. I also finally succeeded in getting my arse to knitting club which was much fun and hopeully will be a regular occurence if I can wrangle my schedule a bit.
